If raindrops fell and hit the ground, with the touch of a piano key, playing a beautiful melody, would rain be such an awful thing? If with every droplet that fell from the sky, came the lighthearted plucking of a harps string, perhaps would rain be beautiful in our eyes? Would it be a pretty thing?
If clouds were made of cotton candy, sweet and sugary, would clouds appear so hindering? Or would we see them differently? Or if clouds were naught but children's dreams, floating through the air, do you think that people would pause to stare, and say "Clouds are lovely things"?
If the past were little flowers, that bloomed and never died, would the past not be delightful, if it never made us cry?
And if tears were golden drops of joy, or shining liquid stars, would we still be ashamed to cry, or would we show what's in our hearts?
If life were only happy moments, of things that made us laugh, would life still seem at times a chore, or would it be a charming task?
If all these things were made this way, if life were great, and strong, and tall, would it be better do you think, or would it be no life at all?

Excellent
Those are some great thoughts Tamerah. But feelings like love just wouldn't be as strong, because there would be no trials to draw people closer together. (just a thought)

See it differently
Life has its ups and downs for all; it is true. yet, viewing the downs from a different perspective could change ones attitude and mature ones character.
Beautiful
Tammers,
This is AMAZING! I loved it - really, really. AND I love the ending - the poem isn't just beautiful, it makes you think at the end.. "If all these things were made this way, if life were great, and strong, and tall, would it be better do you think, or would it be no life at all?" I had to read it through twice, and then I read it to Brandon - (who said to tell you he was really impressed by the way- he didn't even offer a teasing remark) :) - it's even prettier read out loud. :) Do me a favor, and save this one for the front of one of your books someday... :)
oh, AND Happy Sixteenth Birthday!!! :)
