I wrote this poem for a newpaper that our creative writing class has been working on. Just to make everything clear, we all have pen-names so I used those in the poem. So it makes more sense, I am the Editor (Ebenezer Cliesbotham), the Brit is Jonathon Hill, Alecia is Markus Jack and Kendra is Jacques Nichols:) Anyway, hope everyone gets some fun out of it!

Edition four is off the press,
We will succeed and impress.
Our humble paper we will share,
With our friends for whom we deeply care.
Every week we meet right here
Half with pride, and half with fear.
Will our readers enjoy the fare,
That we wrote with such great care?
The chair at the head seems forlorn
But we no longer are forlorn
Our teacher will soon be back
New stories for us she will never lack.
Her chair is not as lonely as it looks
There is something that occupies its corners and nooks.
Dear Nichol’s leg needs a place to rest,
While we go through our literature fest.
He sits quiet silent all alone
Time alone will heal the bone.
Across from him is Jonathan Hill
A genius with his paper and quill.
He too has suffered hurt
‘Cause his face, he forgot to avert.
Though we missed his lovely smile,
Everything is fine after a while.
Next to proper Hill,
There is another seat to fill
Here we find dashing Jack
He always provides us with a delicious snack.
With witty pieces and melancholy tales
Always give us laughs, full-scale.
Bugs and mice; heads and heels,
These make his magnificent spiels.
Across the way, sipping tea
Sits the editor, calm as can be.
He’s turned out the paper just in time
He even found the time to rhyme.
Cliesbotham’s the name,
A hard one to tame.
Messy long hair and a story he penned,
Make up the looks of our boisterous friend.
The four friends sit
Discussing lit.
The fourth edition is finished and done
Next week’s issue is sure to be fun
Who knows what’ll happen this week.
We might meet a bear, or fall in a creek
But always we’ll have a story to bless
As long as we get it off of the press.
