Song of the Road

Submitted by The Brit on Sun, 03/08/2009 - 21:22

I am a wanderer and never am I still
I travel through valley, over mountain and hill.
The wide plain is my road, and mountain my bridge
Every corner: new. A new sight o’er each ridge.

The river my water, the field my bread
Every forest a book; every book have I read.
A bag for my back, a staff for my hand.
Every step untraveled, every mile new land.

I haven’t a house, yet a palace have I
My chandelier, the sun, my roof, the blue sky.
My friends be the earth, water, fire and stone
Though never accompanied I am never alone.

The solitude and quiet of an empty path:
That’s what is so blessed, those charms the road hath.
Though I rest in your home, I shall leave on the morn
For the road is my home, and for it was I born.

Very, VERY good! I know I told you that before, but I just thought I'd say it again:)

Great job! Wanderers unite! :D
I happen to love Edmund, too, actually. I got Skandar Keynes's autograph (through the mail after I wrote him a letter, not in person) after LWW and now it makes me so happy to look at it. :)

His name is so cool. Don't mean to be nosy, but what did you say to him? Just wondering....I like Lucy's name too...Goergey (if that's how you spell it). Brittish people have great names....just saying...

His mom's name is Zelda. Weird.
I don't remember... I was ten, so, you know... Something along the lines of "I really like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Edmund. You're a really good actor." blah blah blah. :)

I didn't want to be connected with you person! I can't believe you. And that's all I want to say. I'm quite as wordy as your are darling.

You got Skandar' autograph?!?!?! You are one lucky shild:) That is totally awsome!
He was my favorite in the new moive. They totally ruined Peter (makes me angry).

Yeah, and it wasn't only the way they wrote the script either, I think he's kind of full of himself (but I don't know, I think that about a lot of guys I see). Susan bothered me in the first movie...I didn't really care about her in Prince Caspian--except that they ruined the movie with the little Caspian/Susan thing. Ugh! It made me mad. But Lucy was great all the time...and I always like the centaurus, though the ones in the first movie were better. Oh, and griffins are cool. Fauns are very nice too, yay for Mr. Tumnus. Alright, alright, so I like pretty much all of them okay....and the White Witch's chainmail dress was really cool with Aslans hair and the head thingy she was wearing. I want to have pollar bears to pull my war chariot. Wouldn't it be fun to ride on Aslan. And I thought my cat was big, Lucy got to pet a cat as big as a horse. I wonder if they ever took the actors to see lions up close.

Nice poem! =] I found it very inspiring!
I've only read "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" but not the other books, so I can't converse in yall' guys conversation! =] I had to write that because I enjoy a conversation, just so you know! hahaha!

Great poem! I was really mad about Prince Caspian too. After I saw the movie, I read the book again, and Peter is NOTHING like that! Gosh. I agree with you, Brit, the Susan and Caspian thing really bugged me.
Lucky you, Anna!

Emily-Oh you poor thing! You've been deprived not reading any more of the Narnia books:) LOL

PC Movie-I just have one thing to say in Susan's defense (well maybe more than one thing); I LIKE her character. She is a little bit goody-two-shoes, but I think (if you can completely forget about the books for a moment) that they did a good job with her. And the whole Caspian/Susan thing...well, if you forget that it wasn't in the book and just look at it as a movie, they did a REALLY good job with it. Brit gets mad at me 'cause I like that part:)

Ok, that's my opinion, and my opinion it will stay:):)

Shame on you! Actually, yeah, if you forget the books I guess it's all right. But Susan is still such a snot sometimes...and a know-it-all... Still, how could you forget the books! It just isn't right.

Just wanted to say "Well done" on the poem, from another wanderer and admirer of Edmund Pevensie. Seriously, this poem was excellent. Reminded me of old Irish and Scottish folk songs (which I LOVE)
And Edmund rocks!

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

Thanks. I was kind of going for the folk song type of thing. I might use it in a story if I find a place for it.

Nothing wrong with it that I can see. It must be... intresting being the baby. I'm not. I would be and I was for almost 6 years. But then Ma got pregnant with... THE SISTER. (que lighting flash and ominous music) Technicly (Sorry, I have the hiccups and am therefore having trouble spelling and can't for the life of remember how to spell that anyway.) I'm 2nd to youngest but I really am a middle child. my OLDER sister is actually the middle but she is the oledst of the girls. So I guess you could say there are 3 oledst children in our family. The real oldest, who is so much older than any of us that he never really had much to do with us, The oldest of kids living in the family, and the oldest of the girls. I just realised that I have been going on about something you could probably care less about that.

Not fun being the baby. Be glad your not. Although it does have some advantages. Like getting to do things sooner than your older siblings. Hiccups? That's really funny, and random. My brother was the baby for 6 years. Then the brit....otherwise known as Hannah.....came along and ruined it for him.

Hey guys, lets try and stay on topic. :)

Nice poem Hannah.

Flipping AWESOME. If I said that in real life, it would've been more like a shriek, that line excited me so much.

Lol.
