The Fairytale

The shimmering dust from the faeries' wings
Settling like snow in an ancient grove
Collecting in the birch leaves as they descend
While the Elves and Dryads dance below
Withered ruins and firefly lights
Ivy leaves grow on the trunks of trees
The sliver sound of the harpist’s harp
While the Elves and Dryads dance below
The ethereal light of the full moon waning
Reflected in the dewy grass
The howling of a nearby wolf
Carried through the forest by the Tree Spirit's voice
As the Elves and the Dryads dance below
Many a moon has rose and set
Since that obscure night long, long ago
When I witnessed the woodland creatures dance
Once upon a lifetime ago
Their arrival I longed to see once again
But, their existence faded into the pages of a forgotten tale
The ruins crumbled and rejoined the earth
And the trees have long since met their maker
Even though my youth has left me
And my life possibly nearing an end
Forever etched into my mind, the memory has never died
But every now and then
When I enter the forest depths at night
The ghostly sound of the harpist’s harp
Can be heard playing once again

Really nice poem! I loved how you spelled it "faeries". That gives the whole thing a medival-y feel right off.
One thing: where it says "Many a moon has rose and set," it might read better if you put "risen" instead. :) Just throwing that out there.

Consided me another one of those people. This was beautiful. It didn't rhym, but it seems like it does, probably because it flows so nicely.
