Reaching

Ah, another one of my cliche poems about dreams! I'd love a comment :)
--------------------------
Reaching

Sometimes I wonder in whimsical words
While the rest the world sleeps
About things of tomorrow
Sometimes I imagine
That the smiles of today
Were of more consequence
That they’ll be remembered tomorrow

But I know, just know
That they won’t
That today is all about
Biding my time
Until the horizon is here
Until I can tell
That my future has arrived

I wonder, dream, and imagine things so big
I can almost reach out and touch
The crinkles in the pictures
The edge of my visions
But they are one inch too far
Always much harder than it appears
They just keep teasing me with they’re face

But I can’t, just can’t
Stop reaching
It’s so useless to try
They entice me
With promises and
Sweet lines
They begin to crack

The smile of yesterday and the tears of my today
Are special too, though not quite so golden
To embrace the crystal tomorrow
I must love the silver today
To be whom I dream to be so soon
I must examine who I am in the next steps
To live the life of dreams, I must learn to be me

But I know, just know
That I can laugh
That I can dance and love
Today and tomorrow
I can enjoy the imperfection
And be ready
For the problems that aren’t

Life is a story and each day is another sentence
For the finale to be the stuff of dreams
I must keep growing and breathing
I have to love and lose
Learn how to forgive and forget
My story is still growing, it’s naïve, simple
But wait until you read the next page, the next day

You completely blew me away. The rhythm is perfect, the word choice is excellent. And what a display of feelings! Took my breath away. Well done. :D
