A Vocabulary Assignment

This is an assignment that I did using all the new vocab words I learned…..

The pacifist held the commanders’ attention. His words swept the room in thoughts of a lucrative outcome, a banishing of larceny; this duplicity was soon broken.

“Sirs, are we to listen to this man who, like a plaintiff, brings a complaint and makes others believe it? This man I tell you will wreck all the chances of an affidavit from the enemy declaring peace. We will have no peace unless this enemy who is par excellence is pulled down.”

The faces of the commanders stared blankly at the tall equitable general. Their thoughts were shaken as if from a blow of water from a soaring wave. His words were bona fide, they knew that; it was the truth that awoken them to a painful reality. The carte blanche of their foe must be fought and must be defeated.

The pacifist commander, however, was not through. He stood up again, confident that he would gain the preponderance of the assembly.

“These hardships of war can be bypassed,” he said smoothly. “It is not intrinsic to have peace with victory. Our foe is much too large for us to defeat. Yield war, and peace will flourish.”

“Peace is never so cheaply bought. These words are giving an impression that peace has been depreciated. His speech should be causing ambiguity among you,” said the general, looking into the faces of the commanders. “His words are nominal.  If you give in to the enemy, you will not have the freedom to waver or to declare your rights.  Do not lose this liberty,” cried the general.

At the end of this speech the commanders began to come to life again. Dissolution was not present in that room any longer, for the pacifist had not held his ground any longer. He had already swiftly left the room attended by his entourage on whom he was contingent, waiting outside the door.

Awesome!  Admittedly, I didn't know some of the vocabulary words...and I'm too lazy at the moment to look them up...but I shall have to learn what they mean sometime. :)

The first few sentences I was like, "woah"... that was a lot of vocab! Fun assignment though-- good job!
