Is it the way
They move together,
Or the way
They'll dance forever?
Is it the smile
That has settled on her face,
Or his grin
That will never be erased?
As they promise eachother
That they'll never leave
And to dance for forever,
Their mothers sigh a heave.
With one voice,
With one heart,
Just two feet,
Hand in hand.
They move back and forth,
With tears in their eyes,
As two become one
And serenity flies
To the sky.
This dance never ends.
It's the way
They move together,
And the way
They'll dance forever.
It's the smile
That has settled on her face,
And his grin
That will never be erased.
This love
Can never be erased.
This dance
Goes
On
And
On.
This dance.
This poem was inspired by some friends who are getting married. I haven't seen them much since they got engaged, but I went to her bridal shower and got to know her a lot better there (I only knew her from when they came to church together). It was really cool to see them together afterwards when he came by to help clean everything up. Anyways, I just was trying to write something and seeing them together inspired me to write a poem about them.

Thank you all for your comments. I'm glad you all liked it! :)
@Lucy Anne- I'm glad you liked the way it was divided. I wasn't too sure about dividing it that way at first because it kind of felt choppy when I read it aloud. The only reason I kept it was that I felt like I needed to change it and slow it down at the end. Anyways... I'm glad to hear you liked it! :)
See him with his books:
Tree beside the brooks,
Drinking at the root
Till the branch bear fruit.
See him with his pen:
Written line, and then,
Better thought preferred,
Deep from in the Word.

Really nice job!
I enjoyed reading this. We have some friends who are getting married in a couple months, and it just reminded me all about weddings....beautiful...and I could tell it was an inspiration poem, too. :D

Good poem!
It's the smile
That has settled on her face,
And his grin
That will never be erased.
This love
Can never be erased.
This dance
Goes
On
And
On.
This dance.
The On and On part was really good because how you divided it. And you wrote this whole poem well enough that I could feel that you wrote it inspired.
