He's my man and I'm his wedded gal
He's more than a spouse, he's my pal
We got hitched and we're stayin' that way
By God's will and His will don't sway
(CHORUS)
He ain't afraid to let me wear his sweater
He ain't afraid to open up the door
He ain't afraid to promise for the better
He ain't afraid of bein' rich or poor
'Cause he's mine and I am his I know
He's the kind of man can take a blow
He ain't a brute nor a feminine guy
He'll be gentle when the storm rolls by
I'll be the lovin' momma to his babies
They'll be raised to be no lazies
I'll be the happy keeper of our home
He'll be the leader on the throne
He'll be gentle when the storm rolls by
(BRIDGE)
And when our time comes to cross over Jordan
We'll all be ready for the bordin'
I'll hold his hand and he'll hold mine
And together we'll cross that golden line
'Cause he's mine and I am his I know
He's the kind of man can take a blow
He ain't a brute nor a feminine guy
He'll be gentle when the storm rolls by
'Cause he's mine and I am his I know
He's the kind of man can take a blow
He ain't a brute nor a feminine guy
He'll be gentle when the storm rolls by
He ain't a brute nor a feminine guy
He'll be gentle when the storm rolls by
I wrote this song for my sister and her husband, and one of my best friends and her husband. :) I have a simple recording of the tune, if any of you are interested. You can email me and I'll send it on. I can't take any credit for the tune because a friend of mine wrote it, although I can take full credit for the words and the voice in the recording. :)

Thank you, Homey! I
Thank you, Homey!
I absolutely don't mind because it IS a country song. :)
Writing songs is a fairly new thing for me. :) But one of my friends recently took my poem that's on here (God Is Power) and write a tune for it so I have technically written two songs. :) I'll definitely post more when I write them!
Thanks so much for your sweet comment. :)

This is sweet! You should
This is sweet! You should definitely continue writing songs! Also, I've been in NYC, but I hope that you are staying safe with all of those crazy storms in Texas. I heard Austin's a mess.

Thank you, Erin! I hope to.
Thank you, Erin! I hope to. :)
Yes, crazy weather lately. Huston had a flash flood Monday, and a tornado passed right next to my neighborhood. But as far as I know, no homes were damaged by it. Thanks for thinking of me! I hope your home is in-damaged.

My house is fine, though
My house is fine, though there has been crazy flooding! I'm flying back in today, so I'm hoping there aren't delays! Glad you're okay!

Wow, Damari! I didn't know
Wow, Damari! I didn't know you wrote songs! :) Sorry if you've mentioned it before and I completely lost that information. hahah....
This was really good. I really liked everything about it, from the message, to the lyrics, to the rhythm I could distinctly feel. This has a very country vibe to it, I hope you don't mind me saying. I could totally imagine hearing this with lightly strumming guitar....so on and so forth!

I really like this part in particular, especially that first line. There's such finality about it, and I really love that you said man can take a blow versus man that can take a blow. I know that was for rhythmic reasons, but it really works and goes with the whole feel of the song. I really like the bridge as well!
If you're ever inclined, please do share more of your songs!
