For no real reason, my parents decided that we were going on a ten day vacation. (Hence the name "Ten Days.") The spent a month planning it. Finally, we set the date for September 17.
We packed up all our clothes. Well, not ALL our clothes, but it sure felt like it.
We rented a SUV, which had a surprisingly cramped backseat, and set off on our adventure.
First stop: Toledo, Ohio.
We got lost. We went to Toledo by accident. Oops.
We stopped at Anna's Family Restaurant. No relation to the Anna here.
My dad insisted that we weren't lost. "We're on an adventure!"
As you will soon find out, we went on many such "adventures!"
Dad and Eric had a mini arguement about where we were.
dad: "We're not lost, and we're not in Toledo."
Eric: "Dad, I could roll down my window and sneeze, and it would land in Toledo!"

After a nice meal and five cups of hot chocolate (all mine), we set off for a place that nobody but Dad knew about.
We drove for what seemed like years until we came to a town called Marblehead. I think.
As it turns out, we were going on a ferry ride to Kellye's Island, where my mom went to camp.
We went across Lake Erie in between hurricanes, so the water was choppy. The waves looked like they wanted to throw you up in the air, juggle you for a minute, then corkscrew you head first into the nearest solid object.People stood outside their cars to take pictures of the waves, but soon regretted not buying water-proof cameras.
The wind was so strong, that seagulls who were flying against the wind wouldn't move. Needless to say, it was a fun trip.

We arrived at Kellye's Island late enough in the day that we didn't have time to do much except check into a little Bed and Breakfast called "The House on Huntington Lane."
It was dark, and the house right next door looked like the Sanderson Sisters' house in Hocus Pocus. It was freaky to a ten year old.

All in all, it was an interesting beginning to the vacation.

Oh my gosh, I live like half an hour away from Lake Erie!! And Kelley's Island!!! That's really weird.
This was funny, btw. I love the part Anna pointed out. ;)
