Back and Forth

If I was to write my truth
In color
They would stretch to either side
Of me
Elastic in consistency
Deep browns and cold blues
A silent lilac a
Simmering red
All of them distinctly separate
Distinctly grasping
At my hair and clothes
Pulling my awares in
Five-thousand directions
Complicating
Compensating
Calming hazing
Forcing me into my own
I know
I have a long way to go
My priorities keep
Leaping
To new ground
For now
I'm okay with where I am
The expectation rivaled by
Anticipation
Two different things
Despite the fact
Their meaning
Could be
The
Same

Love. Great job describing this feeling!

Great job Homey describing this particular feeling! Most of us, including me can really relate! It is both exciting and scary during times where transitions are upon us or on the horizon. I am also in such a position now and you describe the conflict with bittersweet clarity. Beautiful!
