I.
How you tilted your head skyward
and the sun filtered
over your freckles
I've never had such a
beautiful day.
II.
How I have loved you
with every step you have taken
even when the breathing
got to be too much for you
How I have forgiven you
when you have brought me down
with your tight jaw and sometimes
self involved disposition
How I have missed all the good days
but they are gone and we won't
get them back
that's okay.
III.
How you left
leaving me wanting all of the
seconds
minutes
hours
back
I am sorry
if I ever let you down
if you ever felt lost and
I couldn't guide you
if you ever needed someone and
I wasn't enough
I am sorry
I never knew you like
I wanted to
I am sorry
that what I am saying is
selfish
childish
you never cared
I don't think
about silly ulterior motives
you were far too good for that
but this is my way of
making peace with
what has happened
what is irreparable
and final
and there isn't
a way for me to
fully process what
death is
without at least
writing about it
imagining all of the
ridiculous possibilities
that never could have
been anything anyway
I miss you
that's one thing I can
process, please
have your peace and
give me some too.
Hope y'all like these :)

I love the first one. My
I love the first one. My gracious. It's just so lovely. The wording and the phrasing and just everything....That may actually be my favorite poem of yours ever. :) The second one, too. I can relate to the last couple of lines, but these were my absolute favorite: How I have forgiven you/when you have brought me down/with your tight jaw and sometimes/self involved disposition Just wow. The wording is so simple but manages to emote with complexity. And the last one is just really sad.
These were fantastic, Erin. Some of your best yet.
(P.S. Off the subject, but have you been hearing the new songs from Lana Del Rey?? What do you think? Not sure if I love it yet or not. Haha. I probably will)
Wow, thanks, y'all! I'm glad
Wow, thanks, y'all! I'm glad you both liked them so much. Homey: yes, I have been and they're actually some of my favorite things she's done! Have you heard Brooklyn Baby? IT'S SO GOOD. I'm beyond pumped for the album:) btw I ADORE your quote.

You're welcome! And haha, I
You're welcome! And haha, I think so now, too! I listened to the new ones a bunch yesterday and I think I like Brooklyn Baby best. "They say I'm too young to love you..." <3 I just love her lyrics! And thanks for the quote. :) That was my latest song obsession. Esp the version she did live on (I think) a Spanish show. It was amazing! Anyway--
Again, off subject, but did you ever see FIOS? I figured you'd be one of the first. :) I haven't yet but I think I want to, although everybody whose seen it so far says they cried. :(
I saw it on Saturday night! I
I saw it on Saturday night! I bawled my eyes out for the last 40 minutes lol. They did a good job-they had to cut out some parts that I liked, but other than that they did a great job adapting it from the book! Shailene Woodley was great as Hazel.

haha! I'm going to see it
haha! I'm going to see it eventually. I don't usually cry during movies, so we'll see....it takes a lot. :) (actually, I don't think I've ever cried at a move, although that's probably TMI. haha)
Lol, yeah, I'm a big movie
Lol, yeah, I'm a big movie crier. Like, I don't cry about things that actually happen to me, but I melt during movies and books. It's really good though. Ansel Elgort was good as Gus, but nobody can live up to Augustus Waters from the book. Shailene Woodley was SOOO good as Hazel though. Nat Wolff was probably the best as Isaac though. He was really funny!

Deep!
Erin, you're poetry is always so profoundly deep. Every line is wrought with emotions that run as deep as the oceans. I love your poetry, everything about it. It's so complicated yet so simplistic! I can't think of anything I don't like about it!
I loved how these three were separate, but still flowed together into one story, one poem.
The last one was sad, and tugged at my heart, and probably my favorite of the batch.
Love! Love! Love!

Wow, Erin! I love love the last one! So good. The first was lovely imagery. I liked the second too, but just not so much as the third. So beautiful! I think you've out done yourself just a bit :P
