Letter from the Editor, January 2014

Dear Homeschooling Friends,

I hope you are all well, and I wish you all a happy new year.

I understand that there are still intense feelings about the standards. I still want to address them. But not now. Right now, I plea for more time and beg you to be patient with me. I would guess that any pain, shock, or otherwise unpleasant emotions I have inflicted have dulled somewhat, and I would also guess that when I address the standards issue again, it will be like reopening wounds which have begun to scab. I truly am sorry for this. I wanted to finish this whole situation earlier rather than let it drag on, with silence on my part for weeks at a time. There is just so much to say, and I want to reflect on it, and say it right, and say it all. I have been working on a follow up. It is fairly substantial, but there is still much to write.

I am going to be very preoccupied through the month of January. One of the biggest reasons is that Ezra and Kyleigh are getting married on the eleventh, and there is much I must accomplish before then. Yet, once that happy day has come and gone, there will still be much for me to write before I am ready to post my follow up. So it will be a few more weeks before I can post.

Thank you for understanding, and have a belated Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
