Thunder booms outside. Soaked, I run. I have to get away from that awful place.
Rain it pounds on my worn out clothes, stinging my fair skin.
"Sierra! Sierra, get back here girl!" a man's voice yells.
But I only run faster. He is evil.
I know he isn't my real father, no matter what he and his wife say.
I make a turn into the forest nearby. Haha! I think, he'll never be able to find me in here. Maybe he'll be eaten by a mountain lion. I grin and then feel guilty. That was way too mean.
Plus, I might be eaten by a mountain lion!
"Lost him," I mutter to no one impraticular.
I slow to a walk, then a stop. My legs feel like jello. I collapse on the ground beside a tree.
I am away from them, but I don't know for how long. What will I eat? Where will I sleep? All these questions run through my mind.
I am SUCH an idiot.
Should I go back to the home that slaps and hits me? Who feeds me only a little and won't let me go outside? Who makes me sleep on the floor when I don't finish the dishes by exactly 1:32? Nope, I don't think so. I'll find a new home. I'll make a new name, I won't be Sierra Margaret Russel anymore! I will be....uhmmm....I'll figure that out later.
I closed my eyes and pictured a new life, no evil parents only nice ones who gave me lots of ice cream along with my brothers and sisters, who let me sleep on comfy beds and play outside....ah...
