Fredric Fatface

There once was a man, named Fredrick Fatface,
Who wore smelly tweed,
and a cuff of white lace,
and who never could find,
to his mother's despair,
a lovely thin wife,
who would brush his sad hair,
and sew him a coat,
and clean up his lace,
and make a good man
of poor Fredrick Fatface.

This makes me smile every time!

It did the first, when I was unable to comment because my computer was about to die (:P) and it just did again! Haha! I absolutely love it. :D And I love how you tied everything in together at the end.

Reminds me of a nursery rhyme, like Jack Sprat and his wife. This definitely did make me smile. Really liked it! Rhymed well, and the wording was clever. *thumbs up!*

See him with his books:
Tree beside the brooks,
Drinking at the root
Till the branch bear fruit.
See him with his pen:
Written line, and then,
Better thought preferred,
Deep from in the Word.
~John Piper

Sounds like a Hobbit nursery rhyme to me. Although I don't think a Hobbit mother would care very much about a thin wife. :) But it's so cute!

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief

I guess you can call this a limerick. Good job; the rhythm goes well with the theme of this.

Welcome to Apricotpie! It's wonderful. :)

I must agree with Anna, for some reason this reminds me of Hobbits...
Anyways, great job!
