a song

you think
--ugh--shall I always be this
heartless
when it comes to movies
and books?
then you hear
a song
that works its way from your tearducts
until you're blinking
...rapidly...
holding it back
because
i remember your blue eyes
just makes its way to you
and
he took my childhood
does, too
for whatever reason
and then you smile
(ironic)
because, you know,
you love that
feeling
of being so taken by a song
that you strain to hear the words
and plead for a hushed silence
to slowly descend
so you can take it all in
and just feel it

Ya'll prepared for songs that (might) make you cry? This one's a definite for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J2OF1S3iSI . SO. SAD. "Ronan" by Taylor Swift. And then there's this, from Les Miserables: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dny7QqAXfts Which is not necessarily a tear-jerker, but for those of you who don't know, this is from a movie. Where they all SANG. LIVE. Which I want to see this weekend. So this actress had to cry AND sing at the same time, and the emotion really gets across. :))) ANYWAYS. Comment with a song that has made you cry in a good way. Like, not a: OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS TOO MUCH HOW HORRIBLE IT'S RUINED MY DAY, but a good kind of OH MY GOODNESS THIS MIGHT BE SAD BUT THERE'S SO MUCH EMOTION I JUST LOVE IT.

Good poem with good descriptions. Just the words of the song was distracting because I didn't know what it was; how to read it.

For me, a song that made me cry is Abide in Me by Ana Laura http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hspfBTZLhU

If I read Les Miserabes, my dad said that he will take me to see the musical in 2014 when it comes back to New York City. :)

I liked your poem :) I love Ronan. I also love the Les Miserables song. Another song that always makes me cry is Ghosts That We Knew by Mumford and Sons. And Where Are You Now by Mumford and Sons. And Charlie Boy by The Lumineers. And Favorite Girl by Kate Nash. And House that Built Me by Miranda Lambert.
Sorry, a lot of songs make me cry so I could probably go on for a verrrryyyy long time lol.

NO WAY ERIN!!! I HAVE FINALLY FOUND ANOTHER MUMFORD AND SONS FAN!!! YAY!!!! *sigh* I love those songs. A lot of their songs make me cry just because I get lost in them and the emotion behind the songs. I can't remember which songs of theirs I've cried to... but definitely a few.

I can't even watch the Les Miserable preview without crying! Anne Hathaway is just so emotional and... ugh! It makes my eyes teary just remembering the movie! Ah! *fans self emotionally, blinking away tears* It's such a heart wrenching song... a lot of the songs are in that movie. Definitely watch it Homey! It's fab!

To be honest, I cry listening to the Hobbit soundtrack when it's quiet and nobody is around. There is just one of those that just really makes my heart pound. It's fabulous. Ooh especially if The Piano Guys are playing the Hobbit music *clutches heart* So good!

Great Job Homey! This was fabulous, I could relate to it. Very, very well done! Thanks for sharing! It's awesome!

Lucy--Yeah, it probably won't make a lot of sense unless you listen to the song :)) (the Ronan one). Oh, sounds cool! The movie looks like it'll be REALLY good. Anyways, thanks for reading and commenting. I really appreciate it.

Erin--LOL! It's a rarity with me, so Ronan causing me to well up and Les Miserables giving me goosebumps was a big deal. Haha. :)) Thank you.

Kass--Thank you! Listen to Ronan, Kass, and let me know what you think.

Perfection. This is exactly how music strikes me.

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief

Finally listened to Ronan.... aughuagghuah! *wipes away tears* so bitter-sweet. Especially the lines "The hand-me-downs you'll never wear" GAH!

Thanks, Anna! :))) So much!

And Kass--ugh, I know. The line that gets me is: And what if I really thought some miracle would see us through? Because that's the hope of everyone, you know? I just can't describe that line correctly enough, but....*trails off*
