Quandary

A taste, a touch.
Allow me just to dip my life into yours.
No more, no less, and
Nonetheless
I will be fine, I shall be fine, I will
Not
Give in.
Veins throbbing, pulsing through my skin.
I clench my fist
Tight. Fingernails digging,
Perfect parentheses on my
Palm.
What reads my fortune now? Long life, long love
Short life, no
Love?

Does it matter?

I touch my fingers to my clavicle, wrapping my
Hands around my throat bowing my
Head closing my
Eyes.
What now, how now,
Look what you've done
Now.
A fine mess, a beautiful mistake, a broken
Soul.
I breathe, I eat, I even touch
But I do not feel.
I shall not
Feel.
Don't let me
Not feel.

Nice poem! I really like how you've captured intense emotions in word. I have trouble doing that often.
