Quest of Love

Yearning to see Your face
in this place
wanting something that's beyond my reach,
faithful through the storm,
present even in the calm.
Something that not only holds on to me
but secures.
Keeps my heart
beating
my lungs breathing,
not just allowing me to stay alive
but keeping me eager to strive
with joy
through the pain
until i am emptied
of all but what
is mirrored
from Your life.
Aware of my
walls
my ties
to the earthly things
that this life brings
and knowing how
to surrender it all
until i'm stripped
of my weakness
so that Your face
becomes apparent
in my pain
and Your majesty
in my struggle
Your glory in my cross
Your victory in my sacrifices
Your mercy in my heart.
