Trapped behind glass,
no way to escape
from this cast.
Keeping me here,
keeping me still. A barrier.
Things too close to my heart
to ignore,
but too far to grasp.
Unknown before
from behind this glass.
A want that is true
a dream that is beautiful.
But the reward is un-grantable.
The forbidden fruit
tempts even the good.
Fingers slide down
the surface,
tracing happiness
un-allowed, un-reached
but wanted.
No clear 'amen' in the future,
No 'you win', in the end.
"You're stuck"
penetrates through my skin
reminds me I'm human.
I can hear and almost taste
the purity of that place,
a world beyond the core.
The consolation of trust
couldn't be enough
to break through.
The wall is too hazy to conquer
too fragile to fight.
It's too soon to know
if I have the might.
And what if I fell?
What if it hurt me?
What if I failed?
What if I couldn't stand against the gale?
What if it wouldn't free, but scarred me?
Take away the mystery,
what I would strive for. Alas,
I kiss goodbye the yearning
to be free of the thing separating:
this accursed glass.

Amazing!
That is probably one of the most beautiful and amazing pieces of poetry I have ever read! I can completely relate to this piece on so many personal levels so that probably bias's me to it; however, it cannot be denied that this is a truely heartbreakingly beautiful poem. I know I will be reading this again and again because I love it so much! Thanks for sharing such an amazing poem with us! It is moving in so many ways! God Bless,
