Nerves

Mother, please, don't make me go

Father, please, skip the show

Brother, please, stop your talking

I'm trying to think, while pacing, walking

Nerves bundles up inside

Now I have nothing to hide

A voice itching to speak

I'm no longer meek

The cold of the day

Every single way

You push and pull

I'm feeling full

Butterflies be gone

Fly out over the lawn

Go away, I need some peace

I want this all to cease

Then I'm standing

And someone's handing

Me my music

If I coud choose it

All these people staring

I open my mouth, feeling daring

The first note comes out

I forget what the nerves were about

My world is floating on a cloud

Everything is right, allowed

And this beautiful thing

Pleasure, happiness, I will sing

As a singer, I could really relate to this. I panic all beforehand and as soon as I actually start singing and none of the awful things I imagined are happening, I relax and enjoy. :)

As a singer I could relate to this too!

I'm a singer as well! In fact, on the morning of a recital, I wrote this. I'm glad it is something you can relate to. Thank you for commenting on it! :-)

 Thanks K!
