Another Day

it's too late to count the sheep
it never helps me doze, let alone sleep

it's too late for anything, it's just my fate,
these past few nights have been this way,

the aching pain in restlessness
the fears when I'm alone. I am remiss

with battles of every kind
not the gory but the unwise

i'm the one who's lost and grimed
but you're the one who left my life

we had, in a way, been very good friends
from the start to the end

we understood life, or
at least what to live for

but really you didn't, you were playing a part
you knew what I wanted, but it wasn't in your heart

you were the best actor of any stage
i was convinced you were the hero who came to save

i cry myself to sleep every night
but not why you think I might

i'm crying because my heart's about to break
not because of my pain but for your mistakes

somehow though this is better than before
this stillness, it kills but it's safe, i cannot ignore

i'd rather be set onto a lonely path as I am
than walk one with someone who has a hidden plan

i wanted lifted and you pulled down
it was then i knew that you were more than proud

you aren't worth my admiration, or my pain
i pray for you, but not a reunion, you have chosen your way

The sun will rise. Another day.

I am totally blank for an adjective to describe this... I love it though. Especially the ending, and the way that it moves from the very beginning to that ending line... perfect.

WOW! Great job with the poem!

 thanks! :)

Wow... I wish I could say I would be this forgiving/accepting.

This was really good. I like the way you did it, and the message was good as well.

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God such men lived."
General George S. Patton

This is great...I really wish this was a song so I could listen to it again and again.
