**Hey everyone! I feel kinda weird posting some fantasy after so many wonderful, dramatic, deep pieces that have been posted on apricotpie lately, but I'd really like to know what you guys think of this...it doesn't really make sense right now, but I think it will after I post the first chapter. Btw, the book is NOT about the animal called a seahawk. Or a tree. :D These are just symbols. :) Enjoy.**

PROLOGUE
One seahawk.
Alone.
It is flying through the mists, high above the earth. Proud.
Why does it not notice the rising storm? The winds batter it about. The rains drench its feathers. Thunder and lightning boom, flash.
Poor bird! It is tired and seeks refuge. Who will help it? Ah, poor bird, you are alone....
But wait! What is this? Look, O bird, where the winds have blown you...
A tree.
Alone.
It stands on a lone island, reaching with warmth for the bird. It is strong. Strong and protective.
The seahawk flies eagerly into its arms.
And though the winds still blow, the rains still pour, the thunder and lightning still shatters the air, the bird is unafraid.
It nestles close under the sheltering tree.

I like it, it's a well-chosen metaphor. I'll be eagerly looking forward to the first chapter.
And fantasy can be "wonderful, dramatic, and deep" too!

It seems more like a poem
It seems more like a poem than a story. Is the whole story going to be written in that way, or is it just the prologue?
(I like it ,BTW.)
