Sidney's Tale

Some like to say we're sorry folk, Others,  that we’re mad. But here in the land of the Apricots, Naming onions makes us glad.   If you’ll sit right there and quiet down, I’ve a story you will want to hear. ‘Bout how this habit came about, Some parts are quite sad, but others*-, full of cheer.   Ben said to us one day nice, spring day, “It’s a new site that we need,” Cause the old one, well, Ya know, it’s kinda hard to read.   So he set to work on ApricotPie, And in his long, slow labor, Somehow, somewhere, this onion came To be the thing we savor.   Savor? That’s not quite The adjective I’d use, But it has sort of grown on us all, So on its name we started to muse.   Sherman, some said, was pretty cool, Others liked plain Bob, Freidrich? Charles? Sheldon? Ed? But Sidney was the name that no one could rob.   Sidney has grown very dear to us all, She’s one no apricot can start to replace But since we’re known as ApricotPie, She can’t really keep up our pace.   What I guess I’m trying to say to you all, Is that Sidney is cute, yes, I know. But, really, get real, An Apricot needs to show.   So we said good-bye to our little friend, Tearful, some of us were. It was truly amazing to see How close we had grown to her.   But wait! The tale isn’t finished, My telling isn’t quite done, For without our dear onion, None of us could really have fun.   So Sidney is back! Back as she can possibly be. She’s still proudly standing, At the top of our website, you see.   She’s not alone, however, An Apricot now joins our Sidney But Sidney is happy, Happy as an onion can be.   So remember my tale, young one. Remember it as you grow old, like me For the love that we share on Apricot Pie, Is really quite easy to see.

yeah... sure. I was sad that Sidney left so I sort of made this as if she was still here. Yay Sidney!
