Olivia Atkinson jogged hurridly down the stairs, her blond hair barley brushing her shoulders. She tucked it behind her ear as she grabbed her backback at the door and quickly told her parents goodbye. She rush outside their big, white, three story house, cutting through their perfectly manicured lawn to her red Jaguar convertable. Instead of taking the time to open her door, she simply hopped in, landing perfectly in the drivers seat. She jammed the key into the ignition, growing frusterated when she couldn't get it to crank. Isn't this wonderful! Just great. I'm going to be late for the third time this week. She fumed inside her head, drumming her nails on the dashboard, she tried it again. This time it cranked. She sped away from th curb, exceeding the speedlimit by about twenty MPH without even realizing it. She glanced at the speedomeeter and began to slow down. The last thing she needed was a ticket. She made it into the parkinglot just as the bell was ringing, and found a parking spot without much difficulty. She ran inside, opening the door to her first period class just as the teacher called her name off the role. "Present!" She called, sliding into the nearest avalible desk, which happened to be beside her best friend Kayla Wilkinson. "Hey." She muttered under her breath. She heard her friend sniffle a laugh. "Hey." She replied, grinning.
After what seemed like an eternity, it was finally time for lunch. As they stood in line, Kayla turned back to look at her, her red hair slapping Olivia in the face. "Hey, Livvy, why were you late this morning? Stay up all night talking to Andy again?" She teased. Livvy blushed. "No..." Kayla raised her eyebrows. "Okay, well maybe, but that's not why I was late." Kayla chuckled. "I knew it....Why were you late, if it wasn't Andy?"
"I forgot all about or English essay until this morning. I was trying to do it before school."
"Oh."
The smile faded from Kayla's face. It wasn't any fun to tease about forgotten essays. "Where is Andy today any-"She was cut off as he walked in the door."Oh."
The rest of the day passed faster than usual, and before she knew it, Livvy was on her way home. She could see storm clouds on the horizon, and decided to park her car in the garage. The drive home took about five minutes, and when she pulled up in the drive way, she pressed the button to open the garage door, pulling in. She didn't bother to lock her car when she got out. She didn't see why it was nessesary. As she entered the house through the garage door, and automatically knew something was wrong. The house was too quiet. Her mom didn't work, and her dad usually got off before she came home from school. It shouldn't be this quiet. "Mom? Dad? She called, begining to search the house. She began with the office her parents shared, continuing to call them. Her voice became more and more paniced. She search and search, finally entering the den. She froze in disbelief. There were her parents, lying in a puddle of blood. Her mothers throat had been slit, and her father had been stabbed. She began to sob as she strugled to get her phone out of her pocket. Her hands shook as she began to dial 911. She had only dialed the first number when someone covered her mouth. "Don't move." They rasped in her ear. They had a knife to her throat. She something that tasted like a sock was being stuffed into her mouth, and she felt her hands being tied behind her back. He lead her to the front door, and stuffed her in a coat closet, following closely behind. She could hear his breath rasping in her ear. "Not feeling so great now, are we little rich girl?" He gave a manic laugh, muttering under his breath. "Not feeling so great now...." He pushed her down, slamming her against a wall. She heard her skull crack and felt the blood trickling down her neck. He stepped on her leg, and she felt a sharp pain, and winced, trying to scream. He left her there, coming back to check on her ever so often. She had no idea how much time had passed. It felt like days., but it could have been meer hours. She worked to untie her hands. He hadn't tied a very sturdy knot. Eventally she got it undone, but she didn't dare take the gag out. That would be to obvious. She had to leave that until she was sure he wouldn't come back.
