The main thing that started world war two was;greed and stupidity.

After World War 1,the League of Nations was established to hold the peace in the fledging and war torn Europian nations.A commision of the leading powers in the Axis and Allied powers set up a meeting in France,where they were to draw up the treaty that would stop the monumentous war.
They chose a place were the past ruling kings of France had put there residance.It was built by the Sun King,King Louis the Fourteenth.It was about three miles out of Paris,bordering the village called Versailles.Thus,the palace's name,and the treaty.
The Treaty of Versailles made it so that the Germans could not have a navy,an established army,or weapons of any kind.They had to give back all the land that they had conquered.Including a little stretch of land that was between the German and French border.Which they despised and hated the treaty for.
The League of Nations was flawed.It was origanly established by Woodrow Wilson,then president of the United States.But the congress voted not to join the League,thus making the League even weaker then it was allready.
On July 29th,1921,The then unheard of Adolf Hitler was elected the leader of the National Socialist party,the Nazi's.
The country of Germany was highly in debt.As according to the Treaty they had to pay back the damages that the war had done.An impossible feat for a defeated country.And then the stock market crashed in '29 in the U.S.There by bringing the country into even more debt.
In the mists of the great depression and dept-ridden world,a power that nobody would expect rose out of Germany.
On the monumentous and horrible day of January 30th,1933,Adolf Hitler,the leader of the Nazi party,was elected Chancelor of Germany.Through honeyied and persistant speaking,Hitler was able to win the poor and starving people of Germany.
Hitler was known as one of the best oraters of the Twenty-first century.Next to the great Greek and Roman senators and lawyers of old.He had a commanding and perversed atmosphere that surronded him.And it was only starting.
March 12th,1933,only a few mounths after becoming Chancelor of Germany,the first concentration camp opened at Oranienburg,just outside Berlin.Thus starting the horrorific events leading up to the Holocaust.The murders of Jews,political prisoners,handicapped,and gypsy's.This little camp would lead to hundred's more.Starting the deaths of a staggering number,six million souls alone,known to have died.
In October of the same year,Germany quit the League of Nations.They did nothing to stop what was obvioulsly under there noses.
On August 14,1934,Adolf Hitler proclaimed himself Furer,Dictator for Life.
May 9th,1936,Benito Mussilini brought forces into nothern Africa,into Ethiopia.And started to slowly conquer those nations.
In 1938,English Prime Minister Chamberlien approached Hitler at Munich,with hopes to make him stop conquering any other countries.
1939 the Nazi's first took Czechosolvakia,no one stops them.Three months later they invade Poland,using their new Blitzkrieg technique.They take the country easily.
Two days later England,Australia,New Zealand and France declare war on Germany.
On May 10th,1940,the Nazi's invade France,Belgium,Luexenburg and the Netherlands.On the same day the famous Winston Churchhill is made Prime Minister of England.
July 31'st,1941,General Goring instructs the head of the 'Jewish Problem',Heydrich,to prepar for the 'Final Solution'.Thus,the end of many lifes put into action.
June 7,1941,the day of infamy.Pearl Harbor,one of the main military ports in the United States,was sneak attacked by the Japanese.The operation was mounted by the Admiral Yamamoto,A great stratigest.And one who bousted he never lost.
In Japan,one can do something like that to an enemy,but to lose,is more stupid then to do it in the first place.They did not lose.They one the battle,but not the war.
On Christmas day,1941,the British forces at Hong Kong surrendered to the Japanese.One of the biggest defeats of the British since the Revolutionary War in America.
April 10th,1942,the infamous Bataan Death March began.With the POW's of the surrender at Hong Kong,including 12,000 Americans.76,000 in all walked 60 miles to a new POW camp,with out food or water,resulting in 5,000 American deaths alone.
Just eight days later the famous B-52 raid of Tokyo by Doolittle helped boust the morale of the Allied powers.
Then on August 7,the first division of troops landed at Tulagi and Guadacanal in the Solomen Island's.A decisife victory for the Allied through days of battle.
Elsewhere in Germany,the Nazi's have perfected there gas chambers.And in April of that year they began the mass killing's at Aushwitz.
Finaly,on December 17th,1942,British Foreign Secratary Eden reports the mass murder of the Jews to the Privy Consul.Allied forces swear there will be vengence for the crimes.
Finaly,in 1943,July 25/26th,Benito Mussolini is arrested,the Italian High Command destroyed,and the Italian Facist government falls.The Marshal
Pietro Badoglio takes over and starts to negotiate with the Allies.
But on September 23 of the same year,after being rescued by the Germans,
Benito Mussolini re-astablishes his Facist gorenment.
On June 6th,1944,On the beaches of Normandy,France.Allied troops land,taking out the wall of fortifications and starting D-Day.
April 30th,1945,Adolf Hitler and his new wife,Eva Braun,commit suicide by syinide tablets,and by a pistol.Hitler tries the syinide out on his dog first,seeing how horrible a death it is,he decides to use a pistol too.
On March 8th,1945,VE-Day resounds accross the world.Victory in Europe.The Nazi's have there unconditional surrender.Himmler commits suicide,and the Obercommando der Wermacht is arrested days later.
In Japan,April 7th,1945,The great warship,Yamato,and several other escort frigates,were bombed and sunk of the coast of Japan.Yamamoto and Japan had lost it's mighty spear-head in it's formidible navy.
On April 6th,1945,The first atomic bomb is dropped on Hiroshima.Two day's later the
second is dropped on Nagasaki.The old Portugues seaport of the first European's.
The same day Emperor Hirohito and Prime Minister Suzuki call in to the Allies seeking peace.
On September 2nd,the formal surender of the Japanese takes place on the cruiser Missouri,and the President Truman declares VJ-Day.Making an end to the great and disasterous war.
Finaly,the United Nations came to be.To hold the peace from then,even to now.

We must remmember the past as to not repeat it.Let's hope that with the coming war on terrorism,happening right now over in the middle east,we can not repeat the wrongs commited in this great war.
