Note: This poem was a bit of an experiment. I actually had the idea for a snippet of a story that I wanted to base this poem on. I ended up writing a short story and then writing a poem based on the story. I feel that the poem is way better than the story, but if anyone is interested, I will post the story as well. Enjoy!
Captured in those soulless depths,
your eyes betray the pain.
You let the bitter root take hold
and let the silence reign.
You let the poison seep inside
embracing blackened night.
You tried and failed to live before,
so you surrendered in the fight.
All that’s left is the shell of a man,
who’s locked away his soul,
believing that there was no one,
who could ever make him whole.
Allow me the chance to win your heart,
to prove my love for you.
You need not fear it shattering,
for that I would never do.
I long for you to open up
and let my love shine in.
Too long have you lived in darkness where
loving is a sin.
This love is not fraught with pain,
or twisted in desire.
I would never withhold love from you,
while you anguish in the fire.
Please accept these outstretched hands,
and all I offer you.
These promises that I have made,
I know I’ll follow through.
Your warring eyes now shine with love,
that you have not confessed,
but that’s enough to start our life,
we’ll just make up the rest.
Our reviving and redemptive kiss,
proved what your eyes say.
That you will strive to love me back
more and more each day.

Thanks HomeschoolGirl!
Thanks so much for your lovely comment yet again! *blushes* Thanks for reading my writing! I am really glad that someone is enjoying my writing so much! I will edit the story a bit and I'll get it uploaded soon for you. Maybe I can make it a little better before I upload it. I first have to figure out what is bugging me about it. If I can figure that out, then maybe I will love it as much as the poem that was inspired by it! Thanks again and God Bless!

Redemptive Love Story
HomeschoolGirl,
I am sooo sorry that I haven't posted the story that inspired Redemptive Love yet. I got sick (twice) and didn't feel much like editing. I am still unhappy with the story. I hope it won't disappoint you too much, but I won't post it until I am at least somewhat happy with it. I think the story might need some serious editing. I still plan on posting it, just most likey not for a while yet. I still have to figure out what it is that is bugging me about it. In the meantime, I will be posting some more new poetry (I have one waiting to be approved right now). I will post more stuff as soon as I can. Thanks again for your faithful reading and continued support!
God Bless,

This. Was. AMAZING!!! Beyond that...extremely wonderful! Each stanza was perfectly formed, wonderfully written...thoughtfull...and I got a picture with this poem! You're a fantastic writer! I'd love to see the story to go along with it...even if you don't think it's good! :)
