The dangers of smoking have been known since the early 1900's and far before, but people have continued to smoke, irregardless of the literature, other people's health, the right's of animals, and the well-being of the environment and will most likely continue to do so for how ever long the Earth will rotate - which at this rate, I doubt will be a prolonged time.

I recently debated this issue with a smoker, and in the end he continued to believe that smoking was THE affirmative choice. Despite all this, I still hold firm that I am in the right regarding this issue. Smoking is an infringement on the rights of nonsmokers.

The word disenfranchised has been driven into anyone who has kept with the news. So, I believe nonsmokers have in a way been disenfranchised! How many times have nonsmokers been told that they do not possess a voice in the one right which should be given to everyone and everything - the right to breathe clean air. The truth is, that nonsmokers will never be able to breathe clean air as long as smokers are a predominant force in society.

Animals. Do animals have a voice in choosing what they like and do not like? No. Do smokers care about this? Of course not, if they do not care about the rights of humans, they are certainly not going to consider the health of animals.

Smokers have never, even in the back of their minds, thought that smoking is wrong; thus they will stand in front of businesses, unknowing of the human race which surrounds them. But no matter what the "enemy" shall say, I will always work for what I believe to be of importance - the rights of nonsmokers, animals, and the environment.
