She's drowning her tears trying to breathe
But suffocating because she can't find any air
She falls down an abyss, hoping to never return to the surface
All because of a broken heart.
A boy came into view, a boy who held all her dreams
Swept her away when she fell in love with his candy-sweet words
He declared ardent love for her and he said he'd never leave her.
He said he fell in love with the way she looked at him.
But how could he not fall in love with her?
Her eyes were like the moon made into sapphire
Her hands like wings that when they were held would carry you away
Her smile breaking through the deepest mask
Her laughter breaking the darkness like the dawn
Her voice like the song of the chorus of angels when one returns home
Her hair swept across the golden ground as she lay watching the sky
The stars fall into her bewitching eyes
The clouds carry her away
They are her only escape from
The dagger that her love stabbed into her heart
He loves her, though he chases for the model
The magazine face, the girl who every boy lusts after
He loves her, doesn't he? Since he wrote those long, sweet
Love letters that drown in tears with her, he must love her.
He says he does but he has a deeper love--himself.
He has a reputation to uphold, populars to honor
He has games he needs to keep playing in order to keep himself alive
She lies there, motionless, lifeless
Trying to find any life left within her
She tries singing her favorite song but
It only reminds her of him
He used to sing---
"If I had one day to live, I'd spend it all with you."
She knew that he had changed
But it felt like he had died
And a monster that was trying to kill her
Took his place and ripped her heart into pieces.
There she lies, she remembers dreaming
Of walking down the aisle to him
And saying "I do."
She thought he'd say it back but
He'd never return it
Because he's not in love with her anymore
She feels like she's dying
All she can do is cry
As she waits to cry in heaven
On Jesus’ shoulders
She marks herself with scars
Showing her pain thinking maybe
Someone else cares
Jesus is reaching his arms out
Waiting for her to fall in
But she can't see it yet

That poor woman! I do love the note of hope at the end, though.

Let me be the first to say, Welcome to Apricot Pie! :) This is such a neat site and I'm sure it'll soon feel like home! Haha!
This poem was incredibly sad, descriptive, and overall just good. It was well-written and thoughtful. I felt like I was the girl, and then the guy when you wrote from his point-of-view. It was really good! Please keep it up and post more soon!
Once again, welcome!
