I Have

Submitted by Timothy on Fri, 05/22/2009 - 04:16

I have two ears to hear you
If you need to talk

I have two feet to stand on
If you need a friend to walk

I have two eyes to see you
And the beauty you deny

I have two hands to pull you
From the places where you hide

I have one mouth, unopened
That never needs to speak

I have two arms to hold you
Whenever you feel weak

I have one heart to open
If you need to share

I have one love to tell you
I will always be right there

Aww, that was sweet.

"California", he said, "is a beautiful wild kid on heroin, high as a kite and thinking she's on top of the world, not knowing that she's dying, not believing it even when you show her the marks." - Motorcycle Boy, from S.E. Hinton's 'Rumble Fish"

"I always wonder why birds stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then I ask myself the same question." - Harun Yahya

This was beautiful :)

That was lovely... :)

The girls, of course, are all telling you we think it's perfectly wonderful. :) Who am I to disagree? It was beautiful...

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief

It's a good picture of community, I think. Doesn't have to have anything to do with crushes or whatever.
I think a lot of people have lost sight of what biblical community is, but I think this comes pretty close to being a picture of that.

"I have two eyes to see you

(Kyleigh, I agree with you in principle but this poem seems a bit more specific to me).

"There are no great men of God. There are only pitiful, sorry men whose God is great beyond measure." - Paul Washer [originally Jonathan Edwards]

I like how complete this poem is. You know, going along, going along, and then it slows down and says " I have one love to tell you I will always be right there", and that finishes it off so nicely. Short and simple, yet big and deep. Just lovely.

"I decided to be sensible the other day and tore up David's picture. Could you please send me some Scotch tape?" Audrey Hepburn (Sabrina)

Not to disappoint anybody, but there actually isn't anybody I "like" in that sense of the word. There are some friends whom I love a lot, though.

Thanks for the comments. :)

aw, so sweet. Great job. :)
