A surprise for y'all (but especially for me!)

Submitted by Bridget on Tue, 12/31/2013 - 05:16

So, ladies and gentlemen, I have a story for you. My darling, the love of my life, flew up today to stay for a week and while he was here, he asked me to marry him. I feel absolutely spoiled, and I'm so happy!! He is the sweetest, goofiest, most perfect guy I've ever known, and I'm the luckiest girl in the world.
Anyway, I am just bubbling over right now, and I wanted to share this with everyone!
Much love,
Bridget

Island of the Kahts~Part Sixteen

Part 16

Morning dawned cool and fresh, just the opposite of my pent-up and feverish thoughts. I lay in my cot a few moments after waking because I knew I wouldn’t be able to look Bart in the eye without it all coming out.

When I did get up, though, I found I had a respite. Bart and some of the others were making sweeps outside the camp, checking and setting a few traps to give us fresh meat supply.

Craigin was already up and Gern’s bedroll was rumpled and body-less.

On Getting Old

Since others also seem to be catching the omgimgettingolderialmosthavenochildhoodleftwhyamisoangstyidontknowwhatiwantanymore bug, I figured that I would toss in my two cents on the subject.
Ever since I was about twelve, I’ve known what I wanted to do with my life. You know what’s funny is that I don’t even remember what that was anymore.

1. Freckles
you have a lot of freckles
i had never been close enough to notice
they all kind of join together
i like them

2. Oops
i thought i was over you
seriously, this time
but she said you were cute
and i wanted to claw her eyes out
oops
here we go again

3. Well Okay
letting go
is harder
than i thought

4. Oh Well
i can miss you
with all my might
but you won’t
miss me back
it’s okay
no big deal
i’ll keep missing you anyway

On the Horizon

1. Summer Wine
My dreams still taste like summer and wine
Vivid flashes of sunsets and freedom
I looked out into the horizon and remembered
The words you whispered in my ear too many years ago
And I smiled.

2. On the Horizon
Vivid wild taste of freedom
Open my eyes to a never ending horizon
If this is what the future looks like
I can’t get there fast enough

3. Bliss
You make me forget
Who I am
And who I want to be
I’m someone else entirely
I think I might like it

SUNSHINE filled Titus’s room. He awoke and he thought for a moment that he was back in Greece. But he wasn’t. He was still in Rome and lying on a very soft and comfortable bed. He looked across the room and saw that a toga was hanging on a wall. Titus leaped out of his bed. He strode over to it and felt the fabric touch his fingertips. He stared in awe at the ancient yet beautiful design of the toga. And it actually belonged to Father. And then, the images of last night came back to him.
