Night's Magic

Submitted by Emilee on Wed, 09/26/2012 - 18:54

My title is lame, I am aware. If you clicked on this even though the title is lame, thank you! I hope you enjoy it, a comment would make my day!

Night Magic

The crisp clean light fades idly by
The warming orange sun goes down
The once bright earth lies all in shadow

The darkness surrounds thickly, blinding
The silence falls everywhere, deafening

The chirping birds burrow down
The flowers seem to vanish
Darker things claim the time

This strange new religion

Everything is a dog on this one leash:
All things move, seeking to make themselves better off.
Hot, dense air rises to cool and dissipate.
Wind blows to restore balance to the sky
filled with millions of gaseous molecules
all stumbling over one another.

People move to find their own space,
or else leave theirs to join together.

My Beach Home

Submitted by Maddi on Thu, 08/30/2012 - 03:51

Crystal clear waters,
Shell covered rocks,
That’s my beach home.

Rainbow coloured towels,
Sun-bleaching bikini babes,
Children splashing in the shallow,
Their laughter reaching the skies,
That’s my beach home.

People with boards,
Racing out to the endless, crashing surf,
Competing within themselves
To catch the wave of the day.
That's my beach home.

Green palm tree leaves swaying in the wind,
Their tips just touching the ever-blue sky,
That’s my beach home.

Adoration

 Eerie mist blankets the road,

Golden sunlight bursting through

A forest draped in silv’ry gauze

Midst pre-dawn stillness and dew,

He is there, watching o’er us.

At sunrise sisters journey through the woods,

Blades of grass bend beneath their running tread,

They stop to gather flower and feather,

And watch the deer and her kin far ahead.

And He is there, before us.

Grey fog rises from the field of dreams,

Color streaks the sky beyond the hay

Where The Light Touches The Earth

(This isn't really a poem, but I hope you will like it anyway)

I had imagined,

A starry night, an ethereal whisper whisper of wind and the deep, navy blue sea

Where tiny waves reflect the moon's rays

The scent of pine trees and salt engulfed me.

I had imagined,

My knitted, mauve top over my cold body,

My denim shorts leave my legs bare, absorbing the ivory moonlight

I'm running, leaping, spinning.

I had imagined,

The jade green and hibiscus purple burst out into the twinkling sky

Normal 0 Years later, Kaitlin came back to her aunt’s house. She was now sixteen and her aunt expected her to get married. She was planning lots of parties and calls and things like that. Kaitlin had never really forgotten her encounter with that boy. But now she pushed it to the back of her mind as she rode down the broad path to her aunt’s house. As she looked to the side of the road, she thought she saw something looking out at her from behind a tree. She shook it from her head as the carriage approached the front gate of the huge estate her aunt called home.

Phoenix Flower

Submitted by Aalen Fideli on Mon, 06/20/2011 - 04:51

Flower burning, Midnight bright,

Moonlit ocean of the night.

Dragons sing and walk with you,

Remember nothing save the tune.

The phoenix rises before your eyes as the sun sets low in the sky.

The fire flashes and from the ashes the phoenix flow'r will fly.

Sing the song of a heart in flame.

Rise to honor the Holy Name.

Dragons dreaming of what is true

will one day wake to an ugly new.

The phoenix sails and will never fail on the ocean of the night.
