The Call To Serve My Love

Submitted by Mairead on Tue, 04/13/2010 - 15:10

I take the step
to answer yes
I give my all
I give myself
I offer
my prayer of hope
I place it all upon
your throne

and I am on my knees
I'm yearning and praying
with self sacrifice
tears of sorrow on my face
a smile of joy cannot erase
I die
proving life

a covering
across my chest
a servants garb
does not impress
mirroring humility
strings holding
my memory
forever

and I am on my knees
I'm breaking and praying

Offering

Submitted by Clare Marie on Sun, 05/17/2009 - 01:09

Christ our Light, Hope in Darkness
Vine of Life, Source of Strength
Living Water, Living Bread
Essence of the Godly Head
Yoke of Comfort, Rod of Joy
Son of God, Son of Man
Shepherd me, O Dearest God,
Along this weary path I trod
Born of a Virgin, Men to save
Holy Worker, his foster Son
Sweetest Breath of my weakened Soul
Stay, and fill this empty Hole
Lamb of God, Cross's Victim
Holy Priest, Holy Altar
Jesu, emptied of Blood for me
Here I am upon my knee
Offerer Divine, Priest forever

o sweet exchange
which takes my heart and gives me Yours
the white host asks the question
“will you lose yourself for Me?”
o blessed hope
heart hallowed, held, unhindered
says “Amen”
tear out from me myself
pour into me Your life-blood
and the kiss of the host on my lips, my tongue
says I am not my own
and in the loss of myself, I am found

A heart is cold

Submitted by Brianna on Sun, 09/23/2007 - 23:05

A heart is cold
A beam is sold
For souls so beautiful
but hearts of stone

Now wounded He cries
for the heart that has died
and pain looks
from His penetrating eyes

He loves with a love
that’s despised and rejected
The priceless is sold;
the cost of our souls

Love is sold like a piece of cloth
For the merchant is broken
and the seller a thief
who steals unworthily

Are we dead to love
dead to see
our Savior who hangs
just because we
are waiting for a king

A True Sacrifice

Submitted by Edith on Mon, 07/02/2007 - 17:40

How did You, O God
Walk that rocky road?
With the worlds sin upon Your head
And hear the lies they told?

I wonder if you even thought
Once about Your pain
Or did You think of me, dear God
Of all my sin and shame?

Of all the steps You took
All for sin, and me
Every step – every pebble
Meant closer to Calvary.

How many times do we
Think of that each day
Excuses are all we give
Excuses are all we say.

I Love You

Submitted by Timothy on Tue, 05/23/2006 - 07:00

From the beginning
I loved you
I painted you a picture
And put you in it
And I loved you

You blackened my picture
Still I loved you
Darkness covered my picture
The darkness of lust
And I loved you

I sang you a song
For I loved you
To woo you back to me
You covered your ears
Yet, I loved you

I reached into your picture
I loved you
I painted joy for you
Even in the blackness
For I loved you
