Who Am I

Morning, and snowflakes; treetops, the breeze.
Winter, and silence; cold air, the trees.
Autumn, and laughter; raindrops and smiles.
Tall mountains, deep canyons; beginnings, the extra mile.

Darkness, and hatred; blood-drops and hurt;
Evil, betrayal; with gore on my shirt.
Heartbreak and steel; crying and death;
Grieving, and losses; anger, last breaths.

All of these things are important to me,
As enjoyable as joy itself.
What is this thing that savors pain, yet also enjoys beauty?

this was inspired by a report of the Green River Killer. All murderers are still people, and no doubt still enjoy the normal things in life. How do they reconcile those entirely different sides?

Very interesting. I love how you brought to light both the lovable and detestable sides of a person. Nicely done!

I don’t thrive off of chaos: chaos thrives off of me.

Mm... this is deep. Wow. Ugh, inside a killer it must be such a dark, terrible place, but you’re right. They ARE people, loved by God, and I feel we forget that too often. It is sickening to think that they could enjoy something as horrendous as murder, but at the same time, they can be rescued. Just like we were. And such killers have been rescued, too. These two sides can’t be reconciled, but one can be cured to lead a life of beauty God intended for EVERYONE. Including those we deem unworthy.

Wow! I had never thought much that a killer actually enjoys some of the things that we enjoy; but of course it is very sad that they enjoy terrible things such as killing. But just being reminded that they are human like Heather said and loved by God, it really makes one think. I think that since all people really see in a killer's life is their terrible actions, we forget that they are loved by God too. Of course God doesn't love their evil actions, but He still loves them. And we ought to remember that. None of us are worthy of His love, yet His love is real and is bestowed on everyone.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

C.S. Lewis ~ "He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less."

It is the remaining humanity within a murderer that makes them forgivable. The ONLY way that they are different from us is the fact that they have made some very bad decisions. that is why we hear stories about killers being reformed. They only have to realize that they can change their mind to become just like the rest of us.
