Why Go?

Noise and clamor,
assault my startled ears.
Fans scream, this type thing they adore,
but I’d really rather not be here!

To be in that throng, wouldn’t it annoy?
They flow in waves quite tidal.
Cameras are waved in the air like toys,
to capture pictures of their idols.

Those memos will be thrown away,
when a newer band comes their way.
To a different beat they’ll dance and sway;
“I’ll not be doing that!” I say

When there’s another concert,
you can find me at my home,
in an old cowboy shirt,
sitting all alone.

These events hold no charm for me,
instead I’ll be far away and free!
My dog, horse and I-we three,
saving our eardrums shall be!

I take it you don't really like concerts? Me either, there are only a few bands I would ever suffer through a concert for, but more often than not I'd rather just listen to the cd.

is it because of the noise?

Can't say I'm a big concert fan either...

Some bands I wouldn't want to go to a concert of theirs--but others like Casting Crowns and Newsboys put on incredible concerts! I've been to two Newsboys concerts in the past year and I loved them.

I just don't like concerts. That's all. If you ask me why, I can provide you with 101 reasons I don't like them. They aren't my thing. I absolutely despise it when my mom drags me off to one, she does that about twice a year-I spend the time in the lobby, with earplugs in, trying to write.
