the sea

Crystal waves

from a crystal sea

come a crashing over me.

Come they swift

from afar off.

The water feels crisp

I float in the trough

of a giant wave

buoyantly carried aloft

balancing in the spray

completely safe.

Ever and always drawn to the sea

in love with the waves

and with the spray so salty.

I wade out waist deep

to stand in the breakers

surf on the waves,

plunge myself deep

under the surface

in perfect peace.

Sad to leave

even for the night

wander outside

to wade by moonlight

retire to bed

lying by the window

listening to the breakers

boom and bellow.

It brings tears to my eyes

to leave the ocean behind.

Say farewell to the sea,

to the tall evergreen trees.

Goodbye to the ocean,

and its accompanying mountains.

Head back to the desert

as it's compared to the wetlands.

Dance in the night

as it rains back at home

the wind drives it behind

slight smell of the ocean.

savor the scent

of the salt on the breeze

count the days off

till we visit again.

That was excellent :) I get the same feeling when we leave the beach.
