Once Again

I sat, fingers twitching on the keyboard keys, occasionally writing a bit, deleting it always, most of the time still.  The bane of all those who love pen and paper, who are drawn to the written word and agonize over each and every sound as it slips from the tongue to the air.
Writer's Block
There! It is said. I shy away from the word at most times, but at that specific time I had to say it. It had happened to me! The most insidious evil short of taxes... that inability to express oneself via the clickity clack of fingers on keys, or of tired fingers gripping pen or pencil.
And so I ceased to write for almost a year. Oh, I wrote here and there briefly. I wrote a very short story, which I promptly erased. I toyed with flash fiction stories shorter than 250 words and failed miserably. And the Block held me down.
Eventually, since I was not able to produce anything post-worthy, I avoided apricotpie.com altogether, except to note that Ben was shutting the site down, which I felt was another stab to my literary yearnings, seeing as AP is most of the reason why I write even decently; and so yet another nail went in those dreams. I began to focuse almost exclusively on my career plans, on the theater production I had a main role in, on anything but writing. I did continue to write in my journal every month or so, and then - one wonderful week! - I noticed that I had been writing in it every day... and I began to dream plot lines and story ideas once again. They danced behind my eyes as I slowly woke each morning, elusively scattering each time I tried to gather them together onto paper, but they were returning to me, slowly and gradually as the robins in spring begin to fill the bright blue sky, until one day I sat down and began to type without really knowing what I was doing, and a tale began to flow from my fingertips to the document.
Oh, was there ever such a mystical union of mind and technology before? How sacred the bond between girl and computer as she entrusts her words to its memory!
I wrote back and forth in a shared google docs with my beloved as we began to weave a tapestry of words together, and breathlessly happy with my newfound ability to write, I tackled story arc lines and planning. So like Spring as it rolls in, slowly at first, then exploding into being, so my creativity grew in leaps and bounds until I took a step on my own and began my own tale. Waifs.
Nearly giddy, I raced back to AP! I posted my story! I forgot to edit! (I did edit later....) So once again, Sarah writes.....

Sarah!  Lovely to see you again!  I read Waifs, BTW, and liked it very much indeed.  Stay here, okay?  You really have been gone much too long.
