Chapter One
1. And Snow White gave birth unto Aurora, and she was of a fair countenance.

2. And on the night of Aurora's birth, lo, angels did come from heaven to bestow gifts upon the child.

3. And as the last one was about to give a gift unto the child, lo, Satan came in and was sore angry.

4. For Snow White had not invited him to come, and he cursed the child saying,

5. "When the baby turns seven and ten years old, she shall prick her finger against a spinning wheel, that she die."

6. And Snow White and all present were sore afraid, and wept with a loud voice.

7. And they prayed earnestly, and were comforted.

8. And the last Angel had not bestowed a gift upon the babe, and the angel said there was something he could do to undo the evil done.

9. And he said that she shall merely sleep, and not die. Until the kiss of true love awaken her.

10. And they were comforted, and wept no more for the babe, but rejoiced.

11. For in their hearts they knew she would be loved by all, and that someone would love her.

12. And Aurora grew in kindness and beauty, and was loved by all people.

13. And she knew not the curse which Satan, that old serpent, had put upon her.
