Chapter one

1. And Rapunzels sister, Hanna, was wife of Gilead, son of Hur.

2. And she bore unto him a daughter, and they called her, Leah.

3. And Hanna was sore sick, and gave up the ghost in the morn, and Gilead wept with a loud voice.

4. And Leah grew older, and there was not found one person to deny her great beauty.

5. And her father was proud, and boasted to all that would hear him that his daughter could spin straw into gold, even pure gold.

6. And this reached the ears of the king Hamad, son of Rapunzel, who had done great evil in the sight of the Lord.

7. And he was a man of great greed, and he did order the man and his daughter unto him.

8. And he asked him if what he said was true, and the man said, "yes, it is so, my king."

9. And the king ordered her to be locked up in a room, and bade her spin three tons of straw into gold, or he would slay her with the sword.

10. And Leah lifted up her voice and wept, for she knew that she could not.

11. And her father, Gilead, was struck down in the sight of the Lord, for he had broken his commandment, and taken his daughter to sure death.

Looks you're off to a great start on another humorous variation of a classic story.. :D Keep it up!

I like all the "Struck downs". They're so funny!

Anyways, good job--I felt like I was reading from the Bible (as always)!! :)
