The Magician of Iglis – Chapter Thirteen, The Fairy's Instructions
Chapter Thirteen – The Fairy's Instructions

The snow was falling rapidly and Kya kept complaining to me that she was getting tired of all the snow. And finally I grew tired of hearing her complain,
“I thought you liked snow, Kya.” I said, remembering how excited she had been when we first got to this world, and it had been snowing.
“Well, I've changed my mind. I hate snow! Hate it, hate it, hate it!” and on she blabbed until I could not possibly take anymore, I was bearing the snow better than her blabbing.
“Ky, look. I am really growing tired of your complaining. Can you please stop it? You can talk the ears off a hound dog!”
Kya chuckled,
“I'm sorry, it is just that snow is...”
“Ky... I have heard enough of what snow is!”
Kya's complaining got less and less, and finally we were conversing. Then finally, up ahead, I saw the cottage's warm light up ahead.
“There it is, Kya!” I pointed towards the light that was becoming ever closer. Kya jumped for joy,
“we have made it at last, Jess!” Kya was very happy after all the cold snow, wind and long walk. We high fived and in a few strides, we reached the cottage's door. I motioned Kya to knock,
“now you shall meet, The Fairy of Iglis.” Kya banged loudly on the door. Immediately, the door was opened by the kind fairy.
“So you have come at last my dear children! I was not expecting you so soon. Come in, I have made myself dinner, but there is enough for three.” And in we went.
“What is there for dinner?” Kya asked as she sat down at the table.
“We have stew for dinner and for dessert, we have Iglis pie.” She said as she set a bowl of steaming stew in front of me. Then she looked at us both and smiled sweetly,
“I am delighted to have both of you staying at my house. What a pleasure!” And then we began to eat, and I ate three bowls of stew I was so hungry. Plus two pieces of pie! Kya only ate one helping of each, then we put our chairs in front of the fireplace and the fairy began to tell us where we should go to find the forest of the Iglis Trees, which would set us on our way to the Great Iglis tree.
“First, behind my house, is a pathway. It goes on for miles and miles, never leave the path until it stops..”
I interrupted her,
“Won't the pathway be covered with snow?”
“Oh, no my child. It was blessed by a fairy a long time ago, that it might never go unseen, so that travellers might always find their way.” And then she proceeded with the instructions,
“So, you must never leave the path, not even to sleep. You must sleep on the path. Then, when the path stops, you must go to your right and continue that way until the sun sets; then you must go to sleep, and when you awake, turn left. After you have turned, you will see a small stream; but be warned, do not drink any of the water on the side you first come up to, you must cross the stream and then you can drink from that side. Because a witch cursed that side of the water, and everyone who drinks from it disappears, and is never seen again.”
She then stopped and leaned closer in,
“Some even say they appear in the witches cauldron!”
She stopped for a moment and took a long drink of water. Then cleared her throat and began again,
“After you have crossed the stream, you will see two pathways, take the one on the left. After walking a few moments, you will see the forest of the Iglis Trees (you may eat as much of the fruit as you like, it keeps you strong and healthy). From there, you yourselves must find the Great Iglis tree, for even I have never found it.”
“How will we know what the tree looks like?” Kya asked,
“You will know when you see it. You will know.” She replied.
And there she stopped and closed her eyes, and soon she was fast asleep.
Kya and I began to get the necessary things ready for travelling, but we were stopped a moment later by the fairy who had woken up.
“Children, there is no need to get ready yet, the winter storms are coming and it will be much too cold to continue. Wait until spring comes and the snow melts, and until that time, you can stay with me.”
Kya and I were relieved because we were tired of all the travelling and adventures. For a couple of months, at least, we could relax for a while.

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

Thank you! I'm glad this doesn't seem dull or boring since the last few chapters were a huge struggle to write :)
