Chapter Fourteen – On Our Journey Again

At last spring arrived, and it took much nagging on my part to get Kya to come with me. On the morning of our departure, the Fairy shed tears because we had become like children to her. As she showed us to the door, she wiped a tear from her eye and said,
“Remember all that I have told you. And come and see me on your way back.” We both hugged her and Kya cried, too. But I was brave, I didn't cry (so brave...). Soon we were skipping along the pathway, whistling. It was much better weather, which put both of us in much better moods. Finally, I stopped skipping and whistling and decided to start a conversation.
“Ky, you know what the fairy said about the cursed water?” I asked, recalling what The Fairy had told us during the winter.
“Of course. Wouldn't it be strange if people drank from it and then suddenly found themselves in a cauldron? It's almost funny!” Kya said, laughing.
“Well, I would not think it was funny if it was YOU in the cauldron, but especially if it was me.” I laughed. Then we went off into a long silly conversation about different places they might appear when they drank from the water, and before we knew it, the sun was setting.
“It is time for bed.” I told Kya, and put my mat down on the pathway, Kya followed my example.
“It feels like a nice soft bed!” Kya exclaimed as she lay down on her blanket. I shook my head in wonder,
“Ky, you silly! That is because the fairy gave us blankets that are as soft and comfortable as beds.” Kya shrugged her shoulders and soon she was snoring. While I was looking up into the sky at the bright stars, and big moon. But soon, I was sound asleep too.
I was the first to wake up that morning, I stood up and stretched. The sun was bright, and it's warmth felt good. I got out a loaf of bread and some cheese and ate breakfast. Kya slept for another half hour while I ate and got my things together. Then she woke up and I had to wait for her; then, right beside me, an apple fell beside me, and I looked up to see the witch who had imprisoned me.
“For you, my pretty!” The witch cackled and came down by me.
Kya jumped,
“I will get you both soon enough, when you are not near any good magicians or fairies!” she cackled and threw another apple at me and then rode away on her broom.
“What was that that she threw?” Kya asked. I threw the apple far off and said,
“that was the evil witch who imprisoned me, Holga, throwing an apple at me.”
Kya looked shocked,
“then you are not afraid of her?” she asked, wide eyed.
“No, not when I am in such good spirits! Besides, before we left, the fairy told me that no witch dares go anywhere across the stream, so we can go safely!” I laughed, and off we went. Soon enough, the path ended and we turned right.
“Until the sun sets..” Kya said, for the Fairy had told us that we were to go right, and continue in that direction until the sun set. I nodded my head in agreement. And for a while, not a word was heard between the two of us; until I broke the silence,
“We must have said all there was to say yesterday..” I laughed. Kya gave me a polite laugh,
“that one is old, Jess. And I guess neither of us can think of anything to say, and if we could, it would probably be senseless blathering!” We laughed. I had started a conversation.
“Well, at least I started a conversation.” I chuckled, shrugging my shoulders. Kya shrugged her shoulders and said,
“I guess you did, Jess.” And on we talked, I had been successful. We talked until the sun set, and then we went to sleep; I believe I got to sleep before Kya, but I am not quite sure of it.
When we awoke in the morning, we turned left and there was the stream.
“I'm so thirsty...” Kya said, and I knew she was just itching to see what happened if she drank some water.
“Ky.. Quit being stupid and let us cross the water.” Kya followed me and soon we had crossed it. We both took long drinks of water. Then ahead of us, we saw the two paths. Of course I took the left one, but Kya and her usual stubborn self was wanting to take the right one.
“Kya. Come on, right now.” I commanded her.
“I want to go down this one just to see what is down it, who says the tree is in the forest of all the Iglis trees? What if it is down this path?” Kya asked. I sighed,
“Come on.” And Kya finally came. And sure enough, a few moments later, we saw a huge forest of trees. All bearing beautiful green fruit, it looked delicious. Kya went up to a tree and plucked a fruit,
“mmm!!” she handed one to me, and I bit into it. It was heavenly, and we had not eaten breakfast just so we could fill up on the fruits. We ate lots of the Iglis fruits, until we finally decided we should continue on our quest.

Well....I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get any snippets of the winter at the fairies house. But that's okay. I laughed when:

"Then we went off into a long silly conversation about different places they might appear when they drank from the water, and before we knew it, the sun was setting."

Ah...reminds me of so many stupid silly conversations! If somebody didn't know me, and I was out on the street, laughing like I do at home when I've gone nuts, they'd think I was on drugs or something!!

Oh, and this bit was confusing: "Kya followed me and soon we had crossed it. We both took long drinks of water."

By saying that it makes it seem like they had taken a drink of the stream....which they didn't, right? Really enjoyed this chapter anyway.

Ah, this is turning into a long comment...oh well. I'm sure you'll forgive me. We need to skype soon, too. Catch you later. xx

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

Haha, thank you :)
I was really struggling with this chapter, so when I didn't expound on the winter, it was because of that :P
And I think I may've made a mistake about the water, I guess I forgot about the no-drinking the water part :P
So, thank you for showing me that! :)
I hope we can skype sometime soon, too! :)
