Chapter Eight – Escape
I don't know how many days I slept, but I slept for several days in the dirty dungeon of the witch. One day, I looked up to see light, but it was not beautiful light like the sun. It was green smokey light, and it came from a door above me. The witch was coming down with a platter of food for me. When she got down to me and handed me a bowl of something hot and liquidy, I picked it up and threw it in her face,
“I will not eat anything of your witchery!” I yelled. She backed away, and then, revealing a long bony fingernail,
“then die. Die. Never see the light again! And you will not have another chance to eat!”
And she went back up. I did not know if I wanted to die, because there was perhaps the possibility of escaping. I knew I needed to eat, and I certainly was hungry. Apparently, there was no way to get a hold of mom. And I surely would not know now, because I was chained and couldn't reach the cellphone which I had thrown across the room. I was now regretting throwing it and also rejecting my dinner. All of a sudden, I heard my familiar cellphone ring. And I reached out as far as my arms could reach, but I couldn't possibly reach it. Then, as I drew my hand back, I felt a stick with my hand. Perfect. Well, hopefully perfect. I clasped it in my hands, and it worked! The phone was still ringing as I flipped open the lid.
“Hello?”
“Jess? Jess is that you?” I nearly dropped the cellphone in shock,
“Kya?!”
“it is me, Jess!”
“Kya, I can hardly believe it! I – Kya, I thought you were – I thought you were dead!” I heard her laugh on the other end,
“Jess – really? Me – dead?” she laughed some more, but I did not.
“Ky, look, I don't know where in this world you are, but I am in a witch's dungeon. I need someone to rescue me. Oh, and I am starving slap to death!”
“Jess, I am in Iglis. I arrived there yesterday, I will explain it all to you when I see you! I will tell the magician, he is actually very kind .. “
“Ky, we can not be wasting my battery, besides, the witch could come down. We don't have any time to spare. Tell him, tell him everything! I love you! She is coming.. goodbye!”
I flipped the lid shut and quickly slid it into my pocket. I was still wondering how Kya had ever made it to Iglis. Maybe it was really the witch imitating her voice. A cold chill went down my spine.
“Changed your mind, my pretty?” I heard her voice (the witch's) and I sighed.
“No. No I haven't changed my mind you old devil!” She went immediately back up, and I was glad. One night went by, and I did not hear my cellphone ring, either. But on the second day after I had talked with Kya, it rang again. I pulled it out and looked at the caller ID, it was Kya's cellphone.
“Kya? Is it you?” I heard an older man's voice on the other end,
“hmm...strange contraption. How do you talk to the person?” I nearly laughed, because it was very apparent that it was the magician.
“You just talk into it, sire.” it was Kya's voice.
“Jess? This is the Magician of Iglis. I needed to talk to you. Can you, uh. Can you hear me?”
“Oh! Hello, sire! What do you need?” I asked, very hopeful I was about to be rescued very soon.
“Uh, Jess, Do you know what witch's house you are in? Uh, there are two witches. ”
“No sir, no idea. I was on my way to Iglis when she offered to be my travelling companion. And then she revealed to me her real identity, which was a witch, and took me away to her dungeon.” I could just tell he was stroking his beard (did not even know if he had one...),
“Hmmm....I guess I can check both witch's houses. These witches are always getting people in trouble! Naughty, those witches!” he let out a chuckle. Then he said,
“I will get you out of there as soon as possible!”
“Thank you so much!”
“Welcome.” Then I heard him saying,
“here is your phone thing.” and then I heard a click. There went all the company I was able to have for a while. I drifted off into slumber, and was awakened about an hour later by ruckus upstairs.
“Whose to say you can take my prisoner? I am dreadfully hungry, and she is the first human I have been able to have in ages! And all because of you, Renidren.”
“You shall set your prisoner free. Or, we can do it the hard way like last time!” I heard the Magician say, sternly. “Well, oh. Renidren, you always ruin my perfect plans! Every time.”
“Holga...”
“Alright, Renidren. But next time. Next time!” The door above me opened, and I saw a very kind looking old man (he did have a beard. Of course, all magicians have beards!) standing above me, and the witch beside him. She pointed down towards me,
“go ahead and take her. Don't make it take longer than it should, it will only anger me more greatly.” Renedrin descended the stairs that led to the bottom.
“Ah! Jess, I have come at last! So sorry for the delay!” I smiled, and he came up and pointing his finger at each of my chains, burned them away. I rubbed my wrists and ankles,
“hurt?” he asked, “uh, I guess anyone who had chains on for days would be!” I laughed. He said some magic words, and all the pain went away.
“Thank you so much, sir! Thank you! Where is Kya? Is she allright?” I asked, saying it all very quickly.
“Jess, Kya is safe at my home. Let us go back, dark is coming, and I like travelling in light best. Thank you for cooperating, Holga.” Holga turned up her nose,
“Next time, Ren. Next time will be different!” And off we went to the Magician of Iglis' house.

Haha, thank you! :D The witch
Haha, thank you! :D
The witch is not as powerful as the magician, :P
So, instead of putting up a fight, she lets him take her ;)

Great dialogue!
But many grammatical mistakes but I just told you on the email what most of them were, so no need to repeat that. I also thought that having the witch just let him take her without ANY resistance at all was not realistic at all. No matter what the reason, Satan wants us to sin. And he will try his best to make us even though God is greater.

Thank you! -- I'm going to try and fix those sometime soon :)
And the chapter was supposed to be more humorous than serious :)
thanks again! :)

Nice chapter!
I like it. Probs my favourite. But why did the witch let the magician take Jess? I think you need to make that clearer.
Great dialogue, I love it. Keep up the good work, Sarah! :)
