Grounded

A breath away from the top of the sky
Swinging up to the clouds, reaching for the pie
They watch me and scream "Fie! You'll never fly!"
They always make fun of the way that I try
Don't look down from the flying trapeze
One wrong move, one poorly timed sneeze
The whole thing could collapse and drop you with ease
And falling isn't exactly a breeze
Perhaps the sky is just for the birds
And I should stop believing a fairytale's words
Quit while I'm ahead, before worse occurs
The world nods its head, the coward concurs
So I climb down from the ladder I constructed with dreams
Shut the windows of hope, sew closed possibilities seams
No longer concoct my celestial bound schemes
The sky cannot be mine, nor the ground be redeemed

She shouldn't have given up.  She'd already come that far.

"I always wonder why birds stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then I ask myself the same question." - Harun Yahya

It very realistic, people do climb down too much from their dreams and hopes because of the risks. Well done!
