Apricot Pie is back!

Dear Homeschooling Friends,

I trust you are all well.  Most of you no doubt have received my email informing you that I finally managed to get this site back online after nearly a year of being broken and offline.

I won't rehash here what I said in the email, other than to say I am very relieved to finally have the work done (it was a lot of work!), and that we can once again share our poems, essays, and stories with each other once again.  I look forward to reading more of your works, and hopefully contributing some of my own.

There are a couple of additional things I want to note:

Posting Bug

There is a bug you will likely encounter when attempting to post: it won't let you save (and therefore won't let you post) your work!  There is a field called "Notes" where you can include additional commentary on your writing, and it includes a title-like additional attached field called "summary", where you can essentially add a "summary" or "title" to your notes.  Often, this value would be left blank on the old site.  On the new site, however, there is a bug where you can't save or post your work if the notes summary is blank, even if there is no content in your actual notes.

For now, until I can figure out how to fix the bug, the only way around this is to put something in the Notes summary field.

Unreachable Emails

There are some of you to whom I reached out about bringing the site back up, only to discover that your email address is no longer reachable (either your inbox is full, or your email address no longer exists).  I have no way to reach you other than hoping that you will see Apricot Pie is back up, and to see my message here.  Know that you are missed, and we would love to see you posting once again!

In conclusion, thank you all for your patience with me, and I look forward to reading your posts.  God willing, here's to many more years of Apricot Pie!

Sincerely,
— James
