Dew Stains

You are a
new haven failure who
stares at the sky
blinded by light
who recedes into the darkness
come supple night
let the inky black arms
pull you in
very tight
letting go
not an option
until the sun crests
in fight
and you writhe away
and are left out of breath
keel on the grass
for a five-second rest
and when you stand up
all the dew stains
dry fast

----------

teeth in paperwhite rows
you've given me something to think about
when the going gets rough I run
run to thoughts of your cheeks and crinkled eye-corners
but it's never enough to be best dressed
and it won't do to wear my hair down
for to alight in your eyes
to be seen with no guise
my silence would have to be loud

I read this as soon as you posted it, but forgot to comment! Both of these are lovely. I adore how you use eclectic images to achieve a certain feeling.
