I. Truly
You showed me the ring
I loved the glow in your eye when you asked
If I thought she would like it
I have been dreading this day for such a long time
But now that it’s here I can’t even express
How happy and excited and elated I am for you
That diamond will look
So pretty on her finger
I can already see the light in her eyes when
You say the magic words
I will be at your wedding and I’ll watch you two
Dancing in the reception hall and I’ll know that you’ll last
Sometimes when you love someone
You have to let them go.
II. The Assured Optimist
I’m so happy
Genuinely
I was tired of being tired
I’m young, I’m free
I love knowing that no matter what
Things work out for a reason
It will be okay.
III. Fragmented
I want to make words
That will impact someone
But instead I am
Fragmented
Like ripped bits of paper
Floating through the air
I have wished on those puffy little plants
I can’t recall their name,
Nor the wish I so desperately made
Such a long time ago
With closed eyes and a pleading heart
One day I will be a whole person
And with every deep breath
I’m getting another step closer.
These are all autobiographical! I'm seriously in such a happy place right now. I've surrounded myself with great people, I'm heading in the right direction academically, and I feel like everything is happening for a reason and it will be okay, no matter what :). I hope you guys like these!

Thanks!! I'm probably going
Thanks!! I'm probably going to try and focus on fiction a little bit more, especially when the summer rolls around and I actually have some free time lol :)

:)
I loved the first one! And the last lines remind me of a quote about loving a person meaning wanting the best for them, even if you're not a part of that. I wish I could remember the quote for real, but it was that idea.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Happy poems!
These are lovely, Erin. The first is beautiful, I'd basically be echoing Kyliegh and Kassady if I said any more. I like the imagery of Fragmented, it's lovely. These sound so fresh and happy, so glad you are!

Yay you!!!
Yay Erin!!! I'm so happy for you! Especially after the long months full of sad poetry, I am so happy that you're happy!!! These are good, I really like the message of all three, but I love the message in Truly the most. I loved the rhythm for Fragmented though! But my favorite of the three is The Assured Optimist!
More please!!! Love these, and so happy for you :D!
