Ashes of what once was
The memory faded
The scars healed
The tears now gone
The lesson never forgotten
This is about how when you go through hard times, then later you heal. But oyu never forget what you've learned from the hardship.

Short, sweet, to the point, and true. I like! Keep up the good work. :)

Written line, and then,
Better thought preferred,
Deep from in the Word.

Short is good! Personally, I
Short is good! Personally, I prefer to write longer poems, but I love reading shorter poems too. I especially like yours. :) poetry really depends on your imagination, but it also requires that you are confidant in your own style - which may change over time. Short or long, it's still a poem and someone who is confident in their style of poetry is more likely to do well than someone who doesn't know what they want to do. It really is clear that you poetry is imaginative and you are confident about your style. That can be hard sometimes.
Anyways, I just wanted to commend and encourage you with your poetry... And it turned into me rambling on. :)
Keep up the good work!

Sorry - another random thought! Have you ever heard of a proverb? Basically, the book of Proverbs in the Bible is a collection of proverbs. :). A proverb is a type of poem that is very short, swift to get to it's main point, and usually deals with some basic truth. Your poem kind of strikes me as proverb like.
