Three Poems

Poetry has never been my strong point, but I still enjoy composing a few when I need some special way to put my thoughts and feelings down on paper. I also do not pretend to know all the technical aspects of writing poetry, so I'm sure that these three are filled with errors. They can be best described as my ramblings.

A Life to Live

Somewhere between the rising of the sun and
The setting of the moon
Lies my life.
Lived day to day,
Full of joy, remorse, sadness or anger,
Each day passes by
Never to be repeated
Give me death-- give me life--
Life I'll take in all it's glory.
Whatever comes, happiness or tragedy,
I'll take and welcome gladly.
Each day comes and
Each day goes
Giving life and precious time
To live is to live forever.

Regret

Today regret came
In it's many dreary forms.
Remorse arrived today,
With it's painful torment.
Leaving the merciless if only
The delusions of fantasy
Only the somber life of sorrow untold
remains.
Reaping sadness until the end of my days
The loneliness, regret engulfing,
To live with perpetually,
The burden hangs so heavy
Is there a brighter way or hope,
To heal the bruised soul?

Teardrops of Joy

Do you know
Can you see
The anguish that fills my eyes and soul?
Could you guess what
Consumes my thoughts and heart
And help me to understand?

Running, always escaping,
Out of the self-inflicted prison
Until I thought of you,
Teardrops of joy,
Moments of bliss and love on end.
Joyful cries soon passed into mourning
Always sorrow,
Always fleeing,
Help me to know.

Please forgive me,
For causing all this pain.
If there was a way
You could know and understand.
Loving you, too much to speak
Could you guess, and could you hold me
Protect me from this pain?
Do not ask,
I can not do what you beg.

Rush into solitude,
to escape the reality.
Into silence, complete and free.
How can I,
Knowing you.
I used to think there could be joy with you.
Even though you are there,
Would there be happiness,
knowing the way?

Hold me from the pain.
Despite the sorrow,
Crying teardrops of joy.
