Green Eyes

Large green eyes

Listen as the wind

Tells a time-old tale

With messages to send

Large green eyes

Blink as it blows

Deep into the irises

That see but never know

Large green eyes

Take in the truth

As they see the lies

Deep inside of you

Large green eyes

Water and cascade

Shedding all the trust

In a water-works parade

Large green eyes

Glare from all the fall

Hesitate for a moment

The toss away it all

Large green eyes

Keen and open-wide

Not daring to believe

They secrets you did hide

Large green eyes

Grudging slow and mean

Forgetting who they were

Shedding all their green

Large gone eyes

Lost a moment in time

Full yet forgotten

Wishing you were mine

Large green eyes

Realize they must move on

Shed the forgotten memories

‘Till The final thought of you…is gone

Wow girl, this is great! I love all of the ways that you can interpret this piece! I have to say, poetry is my weakness; I absolutely love it! This poem shows such emotion without really coming out and expressing it. However that fits so well into the meaning of piece! I'd love to know what inspired you for this piece (if you're willing to share, if not don't worry!). Every poem has a wonderful story and I always like to hear what the writer was thinking when they wrote it. When I have the time, I will have to read the rest of your work (I'm a bit behind on reading all of the great work on this site cause I just joined, but trust me, I'll read yours). Again beautiful piece!

God Bless,

Oh, my! Read all of my peices? *jaw drops* No rush there. ;) I've published too many, I'm afraid! And I thank you for commenting.

Oddly enough, I don't know what inspired this. Honeslty, most of my poems have nothing to do with me. I have green eyes, and that's all about me that relates to this! The weather was actually really nice when I wrote this, plus I was reading a great book, and all my best poems come out when I'm in a good mood! LOL! :)

Thanks again. Happy writing! (Or should I say....reading?)
