Sam's Poem, Bethany C.

Tired feet, worn hands,
Have no idea what tomorrow demands,
The One Ring, their burden be,
And it bearers, Hobbits, are to free,
Sam looks Frodo in the eye,
And Frodo replies with a burdened sigh,
One step, two steps, three steps, four,
Maybe he can bear just one more,
Sam wakes up with a groan,
And realizes he's dreamed once more,
Mr. Frodo, now gone,
Across the ocean, and far beyond,
It started with one Ring,
The Hobbit's hope, its fate to bring,
Now retired from Adventures dim,
Still wants one more to win,
He remembers plain as day,
What still seems like yesterday,
Gandalf, Gimli, Aragorn strong,
Boromir and Legolas' song,
Merry, Pippin, Frodo too,
And with Sam brings up their crew,
With one purpose then,
But now fulfilled,
Only six of the nine remain still,
To Mordor was their destination,
Some knew it meant elimination,
The burden's bearers a Hobbit be,
Though, not even three foot three,
Then an adventure, now a song,
Ended as quickly as it begun,
A peacefulness now bestowed,
On those who took the heavy load,
So now Sam's rest in the Shire be,
Even though a myth it seems,
The tale now live on in the three,
Merry, Pippin, and Sam they be.
