Love

Love is deeper than a fairyland happily ever after,
Love is the sacrifice of Father into Savior.

Love is deeper than the dreamy thing for which every girl pines,
Love is the pity in the Healers eyes.

Love is deeper than the ‘I love you’ words,
Love is when from sickness, by Him, we are nursed.

Love is deeper than bride and groom,
Love is the first Eucharist in that old room.

Love is deeper than something dizzy and light,
Love is the fall onto knees even when He had the might.

Love is deeper than the dance at the ball,
Love is the second fall.

Love is deeper than being good and fine,
Love is the fall for the third time.

Love is deeper than a kiss of happy prince and princess,
Love is the wounds found on Christ’s bruised chest.

Love is deeper than fun and mirth,
Love is His cry of thirst.

Love is deeper than woman and man,
Love is His sorrow with the betrayer at hand.

Love is deeper than the preference of the world,
Love is the warmth of His grace in our souls.

You can’t hold onto dreams of shining jewels,
If you are challenged, those things cannot be the tools.

The stories from old, told and retold, of love and bliss are lost in life.
Now they are pierced feet that tell the story of eternal love and sacrifice.

Love is the beginning, the creation of earth,
the Incarnation, the Holy birth.

Love is the pull through the pain, when nothing else heals.
It’s how we were made. Some have forgotten, but everyone feels.

Love will not be silenced after His life,
Love burns strong, with fervor and light.

It is no longer something material; love. It is alive now and new.
It cannot just lie as a book on a shelf. It is real, beautiful, renewed.

Mamie,

This is very beautiful. :D I especially loved the line about Christs thirst, and love being his first, second, and third fall. Well thought out.
