Driving in the car
looking out the window at the street
and all the people walking by
walking down the sidewalk,
waiting at the bus stop
talking at the pay phone
with a puppy on a leash.

Walking down the sidewalk on my way home from the park
looking in the windows on the street
and all the people there inside
watching news on the television,
sitting in the blue chair
talking to their family
as they all sit down to eat.

Just little bits and pieces of everybody's life
easy to wonder, easy to walk by
not so easy to see what else lies beyond the door
but it's just bits and pieces, nothing more.
